Greatest Burger Ever?
It is a locally owned place with good home cooking. They have a daily all you can eat lunch buffet.
MoreFood was good. We had breakfast and lunch.
Stopped here on our way to Dallas from Amarillo. Very clean place with super friendly staff. Breakfast served all day so that was a plus. I decided on the taco salad with chips and salsa. Very good!!! Salsa was homemade and had a great taste. My travel mate chose breakfast and got an omelet which looked good and they said it was really good. Fresh coffee and good ice tea. Lots of choices on the menu as well as a salad bar and hot buffet. We will definitely be stopping here in the future on our road trips to Dallas for appointments.
MoreI recently just stopped here on our way from Amarillo to Dallas. I personally had fish tacos (They were good except for the French Fries) while the rest of my group had mediocre BBQ, an okay Grilled Cheese, and a good ole’ catfish. Overall the food was average and the whole place was ok.
MoreFried pork chops were very good and so were the steak fingers. Gravy tasted homemade and good sweet tea.
MoreFriendly, homey atmosphere; reasonable prices. BBQ beef was excellent. Potato salad not so much.
MoreGreat home cooked food. Pot roast and vegetables were delicious today. Also the coconut pie was Yum Yum! Stop in Memphis at the Rock Inn 2 for lunch!
MoreThey always have great food and such nice staff. :)
We walked in and they asked us to get the special and we agreed. Didnt think a special would be so high when we left. Same price as a regular meal at a restaurant for two. Nothing special. Basic food
MoreThe grilled pork chops and baked potato was excellent.but the waitress!!!!!!! She was very snippy and appeared unfriendly. I'm not from here and have never heard of chicken fried steak? Is it chicken or is it steak please.....she says steak. I say : ok so is it chicken or is it steak? She snorted STEAKI never found out from her what it is but let me give her a tip. Smile and say it is steak prepared as fried chicken.I gave up ordered pork chops, and paid and told the waitress "I have a dog in the car so I wait outside.Ok I waited a very long time and finally decided to tie up my dog and go inside and ask. It turned out the waitress was too lazy to stick her head out the door with my order. Her excuse was she was the only waitress.....she had ONE customer.I let her know what I thought of her stupidity so she threaten calling the Police... :-).
MoreWe were not expecting to find much to eat for breakfast between Amarillo and Wichita Falls. These small towns usually have a gas station, a Dairy Queen and that’s it. We came across this place and so glad we stopped. Extremely clean, very cool interior atmosphere, excellent service, and the food was amazing!
MoreStopped here with a group of seven people. The lunch buffet was a great deal for us and everyone found something to eat. I’m vegetarian and was able to fill up on salad, mashed potatoes, fried okra, and rolls. Everyone else had chicken fried steal with various sides. None of us had the meatloaf, but other patrons seemed to like it. The wait staff was very friendly, polite, and attentive. If you’re a fan of Texas Tech, the place is even more fun! The bathroom was nice and clean as well. Add this one to your list of eateries on your next West Texas road trip!
MoreGreat community gathering place. Full of tourist traveling workforce, and locals combined. Excellent wait staff and a great place to find local favorites. And they have the type of food you would expect to find in a local mom and pop diner AKA farmer cafe good food good prices can't go wrong.
MoreThe food was delicious! Service was quick and food came out fast. Pay with cash and you get a good deal. Pay with a debit/credit card and there is a fee. I was happy with the visit to Rock Inn Cafe.
MoreFriendly staff. Quick food.
Food is delicious, the staff is always super friendly and helpful. A very nice, relaxing atmosphere and calming motif. Nice, varied menu, and the buffet was totally on point. Pretty much the only place I eat at when I'm in Memphis, TX.
MoreVery nice looking cafe. The cook did a great job on my steak and eggs. With it being as nice as it is I would have liked to have seen more pride taken in its cleanliness. Time to put the phone down when not busy and pick up a cloth and maybe have some clean tables and menus. Other than that, very accommodating and I am looking forward to trying more of the menu.
MoreStopped on our way to NM. Ordered 2 kids meals, burger and salad. Kids liked theirs. Bacon cheeseburger only comes with chips when the rest come with fries. $2.25 upcharge to get fries...salad must have come from a bag of white iceburg. Nothing green. Steak was cold and mostly fat. Took an hour to get our food. Will not return
MoreGreat food and even better service! We'll definitely be back!
We stopped here for breakfast on our trip heading to Red River, NM! We couldn't have asked for better service and food ! Absolutely wonderful!!
MoreCharged $ 2 for glass of water, with meal...mm
Good food and service, will stop in again
I stop here anytime I have to travel US287. It serves typical Southern comfort food, burgers, CFS, fried chicken, steaks, etc. The food is better than most places along 287. I arrived at 10:45 on a Thursday, and there weren't many people there. The waitress was friendly, and promptly took my drink order. Not wanting anything heavy, I ordered a chicken salad sandwich that came with the typical salty, Ruffle-style chips, no pickle spear. The sandwich was surprisingly good. There was apple, pecans, and celery in the chicken salad. The staff was getting ready for the lunch rush that came for the buffet. It looked good (see pics). As always, I had to get a piece of buttermilk pie. It's made right there, and is in the top 5 of all the places I've found buttermilk pie in the US.
MoreAfter a hard day on the road, I went here on the recommendation of the owner at the Travelodge up the road. They offer excellent BBQ, done on site, and their vegetables and salads are great, too. I had a combination BBQ platter with a salad and a bowl of pinto beans, washed down with sweet tea, and I could not have been happier.
MoreQuaint little restaurant in Memphis, TX. Waitress was so nice. We stopped in early for breakfast as we were traveling home through Texas. Pancakes were fluffy and tasty. My friend had to ask for fresh pancakes as they were cold when brought out. The steak, eggs, bacon and toast were good.
MoreWe have eaten here before and always loved it but not any more. It took 45 minutes to get the greasiest omelet I've ever seen and cold fried fish. Waitress's face would have cracked if she smiled. Waste of money and time.
MoreGreat food! Clean place!
Pa’s favorite is the best thing on the menu. Service was great and my food was out fast!!! Highly recommend this place for hot home style breakfast
MoreI would recommend the chicken fried steak and the chicken strips. Both plates were great! I would not recommend the chili burger. It was more like taco meat than chili. Definitely would recommend stopping to eat.
MoreGreat food. Great service.
Good food, well done. Nice atmosphere.
Stopped in here later on in the night. Food came out quickly, it was not bad. The fried okra side was really good, huge serving of it, a real good deal.
MoreBest place EVER! I got stranded in this town of 2290 people for 7 days. I had to walk a little over half a mile to this gem for food. It is amazing. Home cooked. Super friendly waitresses that after my second visit remembered my name, where I sat and brought me a sweet tea and water. They have a home cooked lunch buffet. Delicious pies. I couldn’t figure out why there were bad reviews, but I figured it out. Sorry Rock Inn, gotta keep it honest for future guests. Everything I had was delicious except the brisket. If you want BBQ, stick to the sausage. If you want home cooked pork chops, chicken fried steak, thick ranch dressing, fried catfish and shrimp, potatoe salad, eggs and bacon, chicken quesadillas, green beans with real bacon in em, dinner rolls, corn bread, bacon cheeseburgers, fries with ranch dressing PERFECTION 😍
MoreFound this great place passing through Memphis Tx. Friendly staff, great service and good food. I'll definitely stop here again.
MoreGreat service..good home cooked food..
Got in about 10 minutes before closing and the invited us in for some awesome food
MoreRestrooms and the dining area is very clean and quaint. Food is sub par, greasy, and bland. Peered into the kitchen and no one is wearing hair nets. I had the steak salad, party had chicken strips and chicken salad. I do not know how it has a 4 star rating. Once again atmosphere is 4.5 star, service is 3 star (messed up my mom's order), and food is 1.5 star.
MoreBe sure and stop here when you have the opportunity. You won't be disappointed!
Some of the best pancakes and fish tacos in the world, hands down! Great place to stop on the way to our from CO or NM!
MoreDriving on our way from Albuquerque, New Mexico to Houston, Texas: we were looking for a place to have dinner. I looked on Google, read some reviews, and we stopped at Rock Inn Cafe. We are we glad we did! Thursday nights they have half-price hamburgers and cheeseburgers... and we were tempted. However, we decided to try their chicken fried steak. They were the most delicious and well seasoned chicken fried steaks we’ve ever had. They were served with a tossed salad, home cut french fries, and a delicious bowl of gravy. We were so full from the first portion of the steak that we asked for some slices of bread and condiments to make a sandwich for tomorrow’s lunch. We are looking forward to round two tomorrow. Anyhow, we will be back when traveling this way again. PS: it was fun to drive around their old town Square after dinner. A lot of closed stores but the old buildings were fun and beautiful to look at.
MoreYummy food and awesome service!
Home cooking with Texas hospitality. Decorated with interesting windmill parts. Great value.
MoreGreat food. Affordable. Clean..Plenty of truck parking
Good food, great service and good about getting your food to you quickly. Onky reason didnt give 5 stars is because of the price. A cheesburger is 9.50. But other than that its good.
MoreJust passing through grabbing a to go order...staff was super nice awesome onion rings, kne of the burgers was a little greasy but overall nice place
MoreTexas hospitality at it's finest!! The food is good down home cooking. It don't get no better than this ANYWHERE!
MoreAwesome fish tacos. Great place great service. Very happy people. Makes you feel right at home. Their catfish is awesome also. I highly recommend anybody to stop there. I actually walked from the truck stop the new loves. I recommend to the other drivers to get out and stretch your legs and go to the Rock inn Cafe.
MoreAwesome place! Steak fingers are melt in your mouth good! Service is great and friendly. Go see em!
MoreGreat breakfast selection. Never had a grilled honey bun...wonderful idea...love this place
MoreLet me just say - both my husband and myself agree the Rock Inn Cafe has some of THE best onion rings we’ve ever had - and folks, as much as I hate to admit it - we eat A LOT of onion rings!! Wish they were closer to home, but then again, maybe it’s a good thing we can’t get our hands on these all the time. Why? Oh, let’s say scale movement, extra lbs, loosen the top button kind of stuff. 😃 but hey, #YOLO Try those tasty, golden, crunchy rings of fried goodness! You won’t be disappointed.
